Moitri Ghosh is an Indian-born, Atlanta-based queer director whose perspective is shaped by growing up across India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the US. Driven by her fascination with human behavior and visual aesthetics, she studied Psychology and Graphic Design at Smith College before spending a decade producing for clients like Amex and IBM at Ogilvy, and later for MasterClass.

Her directing work includes BY DESIGN (Tasveer Film Fund winner, supported by Netflix Fund for Creative Equity), ASHA (NewFest Concord Sound and Scene grant winner), the award-winning CHOOSE YOU, and MasterClasses with Olympic champion Joan Benoit Samuelson and James Beard Award-winner Mashama Bailey.

Moitri brings wit, heart, and visual precision to stories that invite audiences to view the familiar with new eyes.

Projects

KRISHNA & ROSE is a supernatural workplace comedy about business partners who must win a make-or-break pitch to save their ad agency - complicated by the fact that Krishna just died and only Rose can see her. (Status: Short in development with series potential)

BY DESIGN is a narrative short about a happy couple who are planning to announce that they are finally having kids when the unexpected happens. (Status: Winner of the Tasveer Film Fund with support from the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity)

ASHA is a narrative short about a Federal Protective Services Officer who must throw the ultimate birthday party to reconnect with her daughter, but her plans are derailed when an unexpected visitor arrives. (Status: Winner of the NewFest and Concord Originals Sound & Scene QTBIPOC Short Film grant)

CHOOSE YOU is a narrative short about a Bengali Indian-American lesbian who introduces her Bengali girlfriend to her parents, despite having latent feelings for her American best friend. (Status: Festival circuit)
